FAQs

  • We provide outpatient counseling for adults, teens, children, couples, and families. Common concerns include anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, relationship issues, life transitions, grief, trauma, ADHD, school challenges, and work/life balance. Therapists use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT skills, ACT, solution-focused therapy, family systems, and mindfulness. Some clinicians also offer trauma-focused care when appropriate.

  • Yes. We provide secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth to clients located in Iowa (based on your physical location at the time of your session). Video therapy is great for busy schedules or limited mobility.

  • We work with many major insurance plans and also offer self-pay. Insurances include Blue Cross Blue Shied, Optum, United Healthcare, Cigna, Wellmark, TRICARE, and many others! We also take all forms of Medicaid including Wellpoint (formerly Amerigroup Iowa), Iowa Total Care, and Molina Healthcare. Coverage varies by plan; we’ll verify benefits as a courtesy, but we recommend contacting your insurer to confirm copays, deductibles, and authorization. HSA/FSA cards are typically accepted.

  • Self-pay rates vary by clinician and service type. We’ll provide transparent pricing before you schedule and can discuss budget-friendly options. We will work with you to ensure you get the mental health counseling you need!

  • Standard sessions are about 45–60 minutes. Many clients start weekly, then taper to every other week or monthly as goals are met. Your therapist will personalize a plan with you.

  • Your therapist will review your intake forms, discuss goals, and create a plan that fits your needs. There’s no one-size-fits-all pace—come as you are.

  • We do not prescribe medication. If you’re interested in a medication evaluation, we can coordinate with your primary care provider or refer you to local psychiatry as appropriate.

  • Yes. Your care is protected by HIPAA. There are a few legal exceptions (for example, immediate safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, or court orders). Your therapist will review these with you.

  • Several therapists incorporate trauma-informed approaches and may offer modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) when available and clinically appropriate. We also have clinicians trained in ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy). Ask about current availability.
