The Significance of Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Awareness Month aims to educate about the reality of living with mental health conditions and provide resources to those in need.

Mental Health Awareness Month was first recognized in 1949 - it is always the month of May.

Recognition and education are important ways to remove the stigma around mental illness. Mental Health Awareness Month establishes a time and space to start conversations regarding the impact of mental health difficulties. Talking openly about mental health can also help encourage those who are suffering to seek help and find a support network!
